The 1960s and 1970s

Before the national company WENCO was established in the mid-1960s, the future WENCO businesses were cloth wholesalers. The successful sales of non-food items in US supermarkets inspired WENCO employees on a business trip to the USA to become a goods supplier (formerly known as a ‘rack jobber’) to large German retail companies.

The 1980 and 1990s

WENCO’s plans to transform itself into a non-food good supplier and service provider to the food retail industry turned into a success story.

From this point forward, all WENCO companies became associates of WENCO's headquarters.

We are able to provide such excellent service thanks to the independence of each individual company.

2000 to date

The company’s headquarters in Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia) deals with a wide range of challenges. Globalisation, rapid developments and constant changes in the food retail industry require that the company always remains active.

In 2001, the WENCO Group decided to outsource the internal processing and support aspects of our hair accessories/hair care product range and to assign specialists to purchasing, product management and sales tasks.

Two companies from the nationwide organisation are responsible for WENCO's national headquarters. The following companies belong to the national headquarters:

- WENCO Service Rohlmann Gmbh & Co.KG
- WENCO Service Steuber GmbH & Co. KG
- WENCO West GmbH & Co. KG
